Super Activity

Every summer our crew goes on a high adventure, super activity. We've been all over the country doing numerous things like hiking in Colorado, whitewater rafting in West Virginia, horseback riding in Kentucky, backpacking in North Carolina, canoeing in Missouri, and every where in between.

2006 - Kentucky

This trip was quickly dubbed Super Plan B 2006 after each plan went wrong and plan B or C was needed. The 9 day was shorten to 8 days after a horrid thunderstorm atop a mountain in a Kentucky state park. Highlights of the trip were horseback riding with a young, country family; playing tourist in the Kentucky Wilderness areas, finding Fli our crew mascot, and driving over an hour and a half to a cave excursion we already missed to find out it was sold out. more info>

2005 - Colorado

One of our most anticipated summer trips included a long 2-day drive to and from Colorado and SNOW! (Come on, it snows every 10 years in New Orleans so this was huge!) The crew toured the unfamiliar terrain via day hikes and had a day of white water rafting before reluctantly heading home with a short stay in a hotel room. more info>

2004 - Tennessee

This year's trip centered around day hikes in and around Fall Creek Fall State Park. In the park, we saw wild deer crossing the road. The crew returned to the whitewater rafting days with a run down the Ocoee River. more info>

2003 - Missouri

Missouri proved more than our crew bargained for when planning things. The rocky Ozark Trail, Devil's Toll, and the summer heat took its toll on the crew before a cool front moved into the area. Added to the cool front, the crew found a private "sauna" area at Johnson's Shut Ins and had a great day horseback riding followed by a day of dragging canoeing down a shallow river, a ride on military ducks, an being attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. more info>

2002 - West Virginia

West Virginia built upon the great times of our first super activity. The week started with a few days of backpacking. We later found a coal miners trail with steps down the river. Getting down the 500+ steps was hard, but they didn't lead to the river and then we had to go back up them. The next few days proved much better with a day in inflatable duckies (kayaks) and a night stay riverside of the New River. After awaking up to train horns, we started on a long day of whitewater rafting and surfing on the rapids. The way home included a lantern tour of Mammoth Cave a night of putt putt. more info>

2001 - North Carolina

Our first trip took us to the Pigash National Park area in North Carolina. We saw our limitations on carrying overloaded backpacks, re-adjusted and took on the trail once again. The area was gorgeous with numerous waterfalls and cool weather. The week concluded with a trip down the Chattooga River and a day at Six Flags over Atlanta. Heading home proved harder than we thought when one of the vehicles broke down in Auburn, Alabama. more info>
