BSA Venture Crew 378 of Terrytown in gearing up for a fun-filled, week-long "Super Activity" in July. Plans include caving in Tennesse, backpacking in North Carolina, and whitewater rafting in Georgia. The crew celebrates its first full year of Scouting this month (June). Its 26 youths and 9 adults have had a very active first year, experiencing all sorts of high adventure thrills. Camping, canoeing, backcountry cooking, hiking, backpacking, and orienteering are all a big part of the Crew's schedule.
To help offset the costs of these activities, the youth members use fundraisers. They will spanker a car was on June 2nd at Gretna United Methodist Church at 1301 Whitney Avenue and a spaghetti dinner (take out) at the same church on June 24th. Dinners can be picked up between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm for $4.00 each. All proceeds from both activities go directly to the youth for their trip. Please come help them make their summer trip a success. For more information, please call Peggy Reeves (Crew Advisor) or Perryn Olson (Crew President).
Crew membership is open to all young adults, male and female, ages 14 thru 21 years of age. Previous Scouting experience is not required. Contact Peggy Reeves for further information.
